N as in Neiappam

Neiappam is a very famous dish of the south. It has a crisp texture on the edges with soft spongy center. Neiappam is a great tea time snack. I enjoyed the process of making these tiny balls. It had a heavenly taste, i took every bite slowly and let the taste linger on my taste buds for a while. Mmmmm... Its a must try recipe for all those healthy sweet lovers out there.   Things Needed: Rice Flour - 2 cups Palm Jaggery (கருப்பட்டி) / Jaggery Syrup - Around 1 to 1/2 cups (I used one full palm jaggery) Dry Ginger Powder/ சுக்கு - 1 tsp Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp Ghee - 1/4th cup Sesame Seeds - 2 tbsp Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp Coconut slices - 2 tbsp Salt - a pinch Small Bananas - 2 ripe ones Coconut Oil / Gingelly oil for frying Method: 1. Hello Reader (^_^), Good day to you! Being a native of Nagercoil i was wondering why i hadn't posted any recipes related to my birthplace. So here i am with a very traditional and authentic Recipe which comes from my deep roots. I have used sankara meen to make the curry. It is also called as Red Snapper. This curry is best made with small fishes. i am not sure if it will taste the same with large fishes. Warning: Do not add or reduce any ingredient if u want to get the right taste. Things Needed: For Curry: Fish - 4 to 5 (Washed, cleaned and cut into small pieces, I have used sankara meen(red snapper), you can replace it with chalai / mathi (sardine) / nethili (anchovy) or any small fish of your choice). Tamarind pulp - made from a gooseberry sized ball, about 1/4th cup Water - 1/2 cup. Dear Reader,  Thank you for visiting my page to get the recipe. This is a very easy Ladoo to make at home and is also packed with lots of health benefits. I love these ladoos especially for its taste. My mom helped me prepare it and she gave me tons of information about why i should eat this ladoo. Well, first thing i am pregnant and i need the proteins from dal and ghee in this ladoo makes it flavorful and adds healthy weight gain for my body. Though the sugar content is high it can be made healthy by substituting it with jaggery or brown sugar. Hope you'll give it a try and post your comments below.
