Anzac Biscuit

RECIPE





Ingredients

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of desiccated coconut
  • 125 grams unsalted butter 
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup (or golden syrup)
  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp water

Method

  1. Preheat oven at 175 degrees Celsius,
  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  3. Sift the flour into a bowl and then add sugar, rolled oats and coconut.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter with baking soda, water and maple syrup.
  5. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mis thoroughly.
  6. Press the mixture into biscuits and place on the tray. (We used ice cream scoop to scoop the flattened the ball with our palm for even size biscuits)
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool the biscuits until they harden.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
